An article by Bill Brennan about virgin sacrifices in NYC and other places.
Hi all, my name is Bill (Brennan) and I’m a RHPS from America. (“the colonies”!) :) I’m one of those insane people that have been into Rocky Horror for years and years. Ive been into Rocky Horror for twenty years now, as a matter of fact. I started when I was fifteen, and it’s now the year 2000, so you can do the math if you want to know my age. Anyway, I’ve been a member of the New York City cast (formerly the 8th Street Playhouse Cast) as well as a few others, and during those years I’ve seen a number of different ways that casts have “sacrificed virgins”, that is, introduced new people to what the show is like the first time they are there.
Some of the sacrificial acts are fun, some are kind of silly, and a few are just plain unacceptable…but these are “apples and pears” and you can decide for yourselves which are fun and which are not. So, here we go…

NEW YORK CITY SACRIFICE: The current cast performing the show in Greenwich Village, NYC/USA, does the exact same virgin sacrifice now that Sal Piro started 23 years ago at the 8th Street Playhouse. Some people feel that doing the same act for that many years is old and should be changed, others say it should remain the same because it is “traditional.” Either way, the act still
works and people still laugh, so they NYC people MUST be doing something right!
The basic virgin sacrifice goes as follows: people in the audience are encouraged to hand in slips of paper, and the MC of the evening reads these aloud over the PA systen for all to hear. Most of the time they are letters of love, sexual proposals, friendly humiliation, etc. But there is ALWAYS plenty of “My friend so-and-so is here for the first time, please announce her!”
That’s when the MC will say “Okay, it’s __’s first time here at Rocky Horror, so stand up __!”
A cast member in costume will walk to the spotlight, which shines down on the person in question, in this case a pretty girl named __. __ will stand and the MC will say,
“Okay, lets all call ___ what we call Janet.
ONE…TWO…THREE…SLUUUUUUUUUUUUT!”
___ will then smile and sit. Then the MC says,
“So ___, what did you do at Rocky Horror tonight? Oh thats right, you went to a movie theater and 400 people called you a slut, yeah, what else is new?”
OR FOR A MALE VIRGIN…its the same deal, only the line is “Lets all call Bill what we call Brad…ASSSSSSSSS-HOOOOOOOLE! Okay, Bill, now you can sit down on your…”
And the CROWD then yells at him “ASSSSSS-HOOOOOLE”
Hmmm, it may lose something in transition to print, but its a cute act.

Okay, without going too much into detail, here’s some others that I’ve seen:
1) A woman (or two) in leather boots, leather corset, with a whip or paddle will place a virgin over her lap for a sound spanking.
2) Virgins will have whipped cream poured into her mouth and a friend or cast member will have to remove the cherry on the top of the whipped cream with his/her own mouth.
3) “Tunnel of love” – cast members all line up and a virgin has to crawl under their legs to get back to his/her seat after being announcd as a virgin.
4) Forced Orgasm – each Virgin is requested to simulate a verbal orgasm before they can sit.
5) Appled seating – front row of the show is reserved for virgins, who must sit there and watch as the cast members dance VERY close to them (ever see the look on a young girls face as a VERY well hung male Frank N furter shakes himself just inches from her nose?) virgins!
Well, I’m sure there will be other people sending in sacrifice lists, so I wont go into detail about the rest. Needless to say, the basic rundown is to have a virgin stand up, be seen, teased, spanked, or otherwise made to be a part of the fun without going overboard the first time they are there. This makes them feel as if they are a part of the show (which they are!) and also gives them some fun for the $ they spend on getting in. It also makes them enjoy the show more, knowing that they can come back and bring a friend who has never been to Rocky who will also get teased in such a way.
And I guess thats it! See at the Castle!
