When stress builds up for any reason, one result can be a stress or tension headache, a very common complaint. For people who only get stress headaches infrequently, they aren’t anything anything to worry about.

When you’re dehydrated, it can cause a variety of painful symptoms. You may be focusing on your stress, headache or other body aches, but your real problem is quite simple. The next time you get a headache, buy or fill up a bottle of water and sip on it at regular intervals. You’ll start to feel more relaxed just from taking this step and drinking with awareness. Your body will gradually become hydrated, and this will make you feel much more relaxed and probably put an end to your headache as well. Of course, in some cases other problems may be causing your headache, but dehydration is more common than you might realize.
Pretending that the stress isn’t there won’t work. All that stress will only increase over time and cause your headaches to become more severe. Hiding it away won’t help you work through the stress. When you don’t face it, it only becomes more intense, and so will your stress headaches. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that you feel stress sometimes. Very often, as soon as you start being honest with yourself and others about your feelings, they start to transform. Hiding emotions away has never cured them; it only makes them stronger.
